I've never come across an exact number, but I'm assuming it isn't high. Although, I have a hunch that those who are on Twitter, are extremely active users. If you find an article, let me know. We at least have 129 that we know of. hehe.

Good question. I recall that the last time I ran social media population numbers in Comscore for January 2009, Twitter did not appear in the top 30 results for online Hispanic users. Either the survey has not yet identified participants as Hispanic or the Twitter penetration of this segment is quite small.

This is a great way to find and follow different categories of people: it's a "people" dashboard to manage all your people connections: http://peoplebrowsr.com
After you sign in, click the Twitter icon. Then look for a text link near the top that says "Everyone" and click that. Next: in the search bar: type this (without the quotation marks): "latinas, latinos, hispanics". Boom! You'll see everyone in Twitter who has mentioned one of those keywords in their profile; their url; or their tweets. PeopleBrowsr is the best people dashboard I've seen so far, even better than Tweetdeck. And you don't have to download or install any software with PB, like you do with Tweetdeck. Happy Tweeting, amigas y amigos!
I'd love it if you'd follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/LoriGama
Hey Matt Reyes: thanks for forming Twitteros!

You would have to add up the numbers yourself but you could find Hispanics and Latinas and Latinos. This is how I found out about twitteros last month.

I imagine you'd also have to search for terms such as "Chicano/a", Puerto Rican (and derivatives), etc. I know I am most likely to identify myself as a Chicana rather than as Latina. I think the same is true for many, depending on their generation and SES.
