Having grown up in a small town that has experienced some of the most vile forms of discrimination throughout the years, it seems the effects have left its current residents accepting the decisions made by the minority.
Unfortunately, those individuals that are fortunate enough to have gained a better understanding of the importance of education have left Van Horn in their pursuits. Those that are educated have left Van Horn and typically do not return. This vacancy leaves its residents in the same place it was a few years back. (Two steps forward and four steps back)
